Dick Sanderman: 'Live at Harlingen'Concert by Dick Sanderman (harmonium) and Annet Verboom (violin) First of all for those not familiar with 'Harlingen', this is an old city in the north of the Netherlands. At the moment the pipe organ in Harlingen Groote Kerk is under restoration. Hence, it was not possible to continue the annual concert series. However, the concert committee came up with a bright idea: 'Let's have a series of harmonium concerts." For those interested in the organ: This is an instrument by Anthoni Hinsz, the same as Bolsward, Kampen and a few more. A picture of the Kampen organ is at the bottom of this page. Dick Sanderman wrote me:
"As you are aware, the Hinsz organ at Grote Kerk Harlingen is under restoration at the moment, and they organized a concert serie featuring the harmonium. Due to the magnificent acoustic of this church, the harmonium sounds impressive. Yesterday I played the 1903 Mustel Art Harmonium, owned by Klaas Hoek. Attached are two pieces of music found in a book published by Seyffardts Music Publishing Amsterdam in 1922. This book contains two compositions by two composers I am not familiar with: J.J. Biesleaar and H. Wittwer. From the latter - Wittwer - I played 'Erinnerung (Souvenir) opus 12, dedicated to 'Herrn Konzertmeister Alfred Stauffer in Stuttgart' and an second composition 'Albumblatt (Feuille d'album) opus 13. "
