The Berlin Organ Christmas

Xmas 2011 Berlin Organ

Somebody submitted the disc to a local radio station that transmits ALL OVER southern Ontario, they said they were interested in airing it as it is so different.  Makes me nervous as I am only an amateur player…

Rodney Jantzi, is the proud owner of a Berlin Organ Co reed organ. This instrument has been in use from 1904 till 2008 in Zion Lutheran Church in Wabewawa, Ontario, Canada. Rodney restored it in 2009 in a meticulous way, and this instruments now sparkles in quit a number of his performings on Youtube. In doing so he became one of the formost promotors of the Heritage of the Reed Organ.

I am not a musician, nor am I a musicologist. The best compliment I can write down is this: When listening to his recording:

Thousands of miles away from here in The Netherlands, and still a strong connection.

You can experience that bonding too. Buy the disc and listen to these songs. Mind you it is one of the very few discs released in USA & Canada featuring the Reed Organ.

Merry Christmas!

go down there is more

Of course there is no nr. 0 track. It is a referral to the famous words

"Ich bin ein Berliner"

by John F. Kennedy in 1963.

And the organ used in this recording is "ein Berliner"........

Ich bin ein BERLINER
